In collaboration with the World Congress of GLBT Jews, CBST hosted a dialogue on one of the most important issues in religious life – Muslim-Jewish engagement. How can LGBT communities foster mutual understanding and respect? Our guests were filmmaker Parvez Sharma and Rabbi Nancy Fuchs-Kreimer, Ph.D.

Rabbi Fuchs-Kreimer, Ph.D. is the Director of the Department of Multifaith Studies and Initiatives and Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. She has been involved in interfaith dialogue for nearly four decades and blogs at www.multifaithworld.org and at The Huffington Post.
Parvez Sharma is a New York-based Indian Muslim filmmaker and writer. Sharma is best known for his two films, “A Jihad for Love” – which documents the lives of gay and lesbian Muslims, and for which he received the 2009 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Documentary as well as seven other international awards – and, “A Sinner in Mecca.”
